Hello,
September was dominated by one big professional milestone and a lot of groundwork for what comes next. I qualified as an accredited P3M3 Assessor, finished a two week coaching sprint focused on fixing how I position my Service Desk and PMO work, then headed out to Greece to crew at the Spartathlon ultra marathon.
As always, this is a transparent look at what's been keeping me busy and what's ahead. If any of it resonates with challenges in your organisation, I'd love to hear from you.
Training Delivered: September
Reviewing the ROPO PRINCE2 Agile programme
A quieter month for new delivery, with study for the P3M3 assessor exam and a week away at the Spartathlon taking priority. I have good availability for Q4 bookings, including on-site work.
Partnerships & Business Development
Restarting conversations after the summer
- Symphera: opened a conversation about training and consulting across the DACH region.
- Innowise: signed the standard agent agreement, formalising the Innowise x PDCA Consulting partnership.
- Reached out to Capgemini (Frank Geerling and Lex van der Helm), D-ploy and XPRNC (Norbert Buecker and Zoltan Nagy), and ITSM Hub (Neil Petford) to restart collaboration conversations now the summer is over.
- Ongoing conversations with The Knowledge Academy, SimpliAxis and PIC Consulting about upcoming course bookings and a potential new role.
You are talking to a P3M3 Assessor now. I passed the ACP_P3M3MM accreditation exam on 17 September with a score of 78%, qualifying me to assess organisations' project, programme and portfolio management maturity against the P3M3 model, alongside my existing ITIL Maturity Model accreditation.
Content & Thought Leadership
Fixing how I position Service Desk and PMO work
September's other big project was a two week coaching sprint with Yani Neugebauer, focused on fixing how PDCA's LinkedIn presence and website position our Service Desk and PMO work.
I also attended the ITIL Community Clinic, the PRINCE2 Community Clinic, and the PeopleCert Ambassador Monthly Meeting, along with webinars on the AI skills crisis for project managers, practical use of the ITIL Maturity Model, and the State of AI Governance, Risk and Operational Resilience. I agreed to host the ITIL Masters Round Table in November and to share my backlog of blog ideas with PeopleCert for cross-posting.
LinkedIn Thought Leadership: September
Eleven posts: two milestones and a serialised story
Web EditionSeptember opened with two credential milestones, then turned into the busiest run of posting all year: a serialised story that started out following a 150-person logistics team through a documentation overhaul, then pivoted in the final days of the month into a second story about service catalogues that don't survive contact with real demand.
This is the web edition of the newsletter, published on PDCAConsulting.com/blog. Every post title above links straight to LinkedIn.
